wine & fishing camp Franconian Switzerland/Oberfranken
… a short trip in harmony with nature
Participation in our Wine & Fishing Camps means a complete escape from everyday life, a short trip in harmony with nature, providing sensual enjoyment of fauna & flora. Together we stage the authentic and respectful preparation of caught fish around open campfires. Matured meat cuts from local cattle and locally hunted game also come on the fire.
The trip is accompanied by selected German wine specialties from traditional wineries with a worldwide reputation. Experience a true highlight between the fishing sessions with a Franconian 6-course tasting menu by top chef Christian Brieske in the legendary “Schwarzer Adler” (Black Eagle) in the northern area of Nuremberg. We dive deep into the large bottle cellar of the traditional country inn that has been in operation since 1752.
The Culinary Fishing Camp begins on the first day with your own arrival by 12:00 p.m. and ends on the third day at 3:00 p.m. on your departure. These times usually apply from Friday to Sunday. Individual group appointments can also be arranged during the week.
Weatherproof clothing is advised, as we will be outdoors in all weathers. Anglers need a federal fishing license.
The Upper Franconian river sections of the Regnitz and Aisch are fished between Baiersdorf, Forchheim and Seussling and in the 30-hectare Roth-See, a densely vegetated former gravel pit near Buttenheim, with an average water depth of 7 m. Night fishing is possible in all waters. Fishing is traditionally done for pike, zander, catfish, carp, tench and arctic char as well as for other salmonids such as brown and rainbow trout and grayling. Fly fishing is also possible.
For the transport from and to country guesthouse / fishing spots / Black Eagle there is a separate bus on stand by at all times.
Spend the night cozy and comfortably with breakfast in family-run, traditional Franconian country guesthouses centrally located on the various fishing routes.
